Department of Neighborhoods - City of Detroit

Meet your Department of Neighborhoods District One Team, Karla Williamson and Kya Robertson.  They have been charged with the task of eliminating blight in their district and will be your partners in making that happen.  They will do this by working closely with neighborhood and other community organizations, CDCs, faith-based organizations and local businesses to identify and prioritize your concerns, and then coordinate with the appropriate City department to deliver results.  They will help you to address all blight-related issues, including dangerous building demolition, repurposing vacant lots and structurally sound vacant buildings, as well as non-structural blight.

Scouts BSA Troop 123

Scouts BSA Troop 123 was re-started in Fall of 2016 after a hiatus of about 10 years. The Troop meets at the North Rosedale Community House, 18445 Scarsdale St, Detroit, MI 48223, upstairs, on the 1st and 3rd Mondays, September through May (and only the 1st Monday in June) from 6:30 to 8pm.  What is unique about our troop is we have an outing each month (contingent on weather).  We camp, we hike, we bike ride and have many experiences other youth may not have been exposed to like - spending the night on a World War 2 carrier ship, cave exploring, luge (like bobsledding but in summer), horseback riding, we have camped on Belle Isle and at Fort Wayne and we will be going to the Lexus Velodrome and an overnight canoe trip in 2020!

If you have boys aged 11-17 who enjoy the outdoors, wish to know more about the outdoors or just love adventure, please come attend a meeting with the boys of Troop 123!
